WWII German Model 1942 Luftwaffe Single Decal Helmet-This handsome example comes with a photocopy of a “V” mail sent home by the veteran at some point. It makes no mention of anything pertaining to the helmet but it came with it so its neat. This piece has a blue grey combat finish that is mostly missing from the exterior but present on the interior. The toned Luftwaffe eagle decal on the left side is in great condition, remaining mostly intact. The interior features a size stamped 56 tan leather liner that is in great condition, remaining super soft and very clean. There is a drawstring and a zinc liner band that is maker marked, dated 1940 and size stamped 64/56. The side of the interior is stamped NS 64 indicating production by Nickelwerke of Schwerte in the size of 64. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number D 239. The original brown leather chinstrap is included but it is broken and very stiff. A good example overall!
