WWI Trio with Memorial Plaque. Tully. Knockatee, County Galway. Died 1918, influenza. in Groups

Correctly named 1915 Star T4-056430 Whlr Cpl J Tully ASC Pair correctly named T4-056430 Cpl J Tully ASC James Tully was born c1893 in County Galway, Ireland. We know from records that his father was named Thomas. His service papers exist which confirm he came from Knockatee, Dunmore, County Galway. When he enlisted in early 1915, we know he was working as a wheelwright. He rosed to Wheelwright Corporal relitvely fast and was sent overseas to France in August 1915. He is last knoiw to serve with No 3 Company, 38th Division Train, Army Service Corps. He married Hilda May Martin in 1917 in Potterne, Devizes. Two addresses found for him are, Lower Street, Potterne and Whistley Road, Potterne. James contracted influenza through active service and died on the 3rd of December 1918 in France. He is buried at Caudry British Cemetery in France. All medals have long original silk ribbons, also it comes with a flattened lid of a medal transmittal box.
