Correctly named 69891 Pte E Midgley RAMC Born in Toxteth Park, Lancashire to Stephen and Marth in 1890, Edmund Sager was an artist when he enlisted for service in Liverpool in 1915. Two addresses are found for him, White Bull Hotel, Alston nr Preston and earlier in 1911, Mill Lane Hospital, Liscard, Cheshire. He headed to France in December 1915 earning himself the 1915 Star Trio. He was awarded his Military Medal for gallantry between the 23rd and 30th of April 1917. At this time he was serving during the 2nd period, Phase B of the Battle of Arras, the Capture of the Seigfried Line. It is gazetted on the 9th of July 1917. Late i October 1917, we see he was wounded in a mustard gas attack. He was later transferred to the 534 Agricultural Company of the Labour Corps with the service number 555847. Edmund died in 1926. The medal has an original silk ribbon.
