Medal group consisting 1939-45 star , Africa star and War medal . Complete with his condolence slip named to ‘ L/Sgt F. Alexander ‘ . Issue box naming removed . 3 medal transit bags. L/Sgt F.Alexander . 197 Bty 61 Lt AA Reg R.A . Died 29th Aug 1942 age 28 . Buried Tripoli . Lance Sergeant Francis Alexander a native of Glasgow served with the 197th Battery of the 61st Light Anti Aircraft Regiment Royal Artillery in the Western Desert, he was first reported as been taken prisoner on the 2nd July 1942 and was later confirmed as died whist a POW on the 29th August 1942.
