WW1 British 1912 pattern Generals tunic in Helmets & caps

1,155.13

RH01 WW1 British 1912 pattern Generals tunic. This is a high quality tailor made tunic for a senior officer, in this case a full General. The cloth is a very fine weave lightweight khaki material. The red tabs are made using gold bullion wire. Generals buttons all made by JR Gaunt & sons, London. The shoulder rank has been upgraded at some stage, as there is evidence of a change in configuration. Interestingly, the tunic has had a first field dressing pouch added to the inner right hem, no doubt a feature added when the officer was required to move into a theatre of operations. The tunic is unnamed. There are several small moth nips to front and back and slight wear to finish on the bullion tabs but overall still displays nicely.
