167.49

An original Second World War United States Army boat neck sweater which is in good condition. This pattern of jumper was produced during the Second World War and is sometimes referred to as the 1943 pattern. It was designed as a sleeveless vest which features a large ‘boat neck’ opening. The garment is made from an olive drab dyed wool and is machine knitted and features a ribbed waistband. There are no labels inside the jumper but it is a guaranteed original example. The sweater will suit around a 38′ – 40′ chest depending on desired fit. When laid flat it measures – Chest – 18 1/2′ (pulls out to 21′) Shoulders – 17′ Length at rear – 25′ The overall condition of the garment is good with some limited signs of wear and age. There are a couple of small holes which are illustrated in the pictures. Please take time to study these and bear in mind that it is a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small flaws commensurate with age. A nice original example which is in good condition.
