Deadstock Original 1966 Dated Australian 1950 Pattern Jungle Green Trousers – Size 38×34 in Trousers & shorts
€259.91
An original pair of Australian made1950 pattern Drill Green trousers in deadstock, unworn condition which are clearly dated 1966. This pattern of trousers with the cross belt waist came into issue with British and Commonwealth forces in 1944. It stayed in use well into the 1970s under different designations including ‘1950 pattern’. The waist belt was designed to be adjustable to account for the wearer losing weight in hot climates. This style is now often referred to as ‘Gurkha pants’. The trousers are made from a green coloured cotton drill material and feature a twin pleated front, slash pockets to the hips, twin rear pockets and a map pocket to the left leg. The fly fastens with brown plastic buttons as do the pockets and the waist belts fasten with single prong buckles made from metal which has been chromium plated. Inside the trousers the original label is still present and is bright and legible. The maker’s initials of ‘CGCF’ and the 1966 date are present as is the Australian War Department broad arrow marking. The size is stated as No. 20 and they will suit a 38′ waist, depending on desired fit. When laid flat the trousers measure – Waist – 19′ Rise – 18′ Rear rise – 19 1/2′ Inside leg – 34′ Outside leg – 49′ Cuff – 10 3/4′ The trousers are in excellent condition with no signs of serious wear or use. They could be described as ‘deadstock’ or ‘unworn’. All the buttons are present as are the metal waist buckles and the overall condition is very good. They are very fresh and don’t appear to have been washed or worn previously. Please take time to study the pictures and remember that these are a pre-owned, vintage pair of trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age. A very nice pair of this hard to find pattern of trousers, complete with a great label!
