Deadstock Original 1954 Dated British Army 1950 Pattern Jungle Green Trousers – Size 7 in Trousers & shorts
€306.11
An original pair of original 1950 pattern Drill Green trousers in deadstock condition which date from 1954 and are a size No. 7. This pattern of trousers with the cross belt waist came into issue with British forces in 1944. It stayed in use well into the 1970s under different designations including ‘1950 pattern’. The waist belt was designed to be adjustable to account for the wearer losing weight in hot climates. This style is now often referred to as ‘Gurkha pants’. The trousers are made from a green coloured cotton drill material and feature a twin pleated front, slash pockets to the hips, twin rear pockets and a map pocket to the left leg. The fly fastens with green plastic buttons as do the rear pockets and the waist belts fasten with the correct chrome plated single prong buckles. Inside the trousers the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the title of ‘Trousers Drill Green 1950 Pattern’ below which is the size of 7. The maker’s name of ‘Alfred Polikoff Ltd’ is also present as is the 1954 date and the War Department broad arrow marking. There is also a War Department acceptance stamp which is surmounted by the letter ‘M’. The trousers will suit around a 31′ waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat they measure – Waist – 15 1/2′ Rise – 17′ Rear rise – 18′ Inside leg – 31′ Outside leg – 46′ Cuff – 10′ The trousers are in excellent condition with no signs of wear or use. They could be described as ‘deadstock’ or ‘unworn’ and overall they are clean and totally wearable with no notable flaws. Please take time to study these and remember that these are a pre-owned, vintage pair of trousers which may have issues commensurate with age. An excellent example of this pattern of trousers!
