A WWI 1914-18 War Medal awarded to PO 18451 PTE H. HAIG R.M.L.I K.I.A. Battle of Jutland in Casuality

British War medal with its original silk ribbon awarded to PO. 18451 PTE. H. HAIG R.M.L.I. who was sadly Killed in Action on 31st May 1916 in the naval battle of Jutland while serving on the famous Battle ship, H.M.S MALAYA, included is a pamphlet from the church of H.M.S MALAYA, showing The memorial to commemorate the men lost in the battle of Jutland. Included Is a Spinks commemorative medal In silver, the obverse presents two crossed flags of the White Ensign and the Union Jack with a trident in the middle, surrounded by the inscription TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL THAT DAY, reverse presents a laurel wreath with an interior inscription reading MAY 31, 1916 THE GERMAN FLEET ATTACKED OFF THE COAST OF JUTLAND AND DRIVEN BACK INTO PORT WITH HEAVY LOSS. ADMIRAL SIR JOHN JELLICOE COMMANDER IN CHIEF. VICE ADMIRAL SIR DAVID BEATTY COMMANDING BATTLE CRUISIER FLEET., marked SPINK & SON 1916 at 6 o’clock of reverse, marked SILVER near integral loop, measures 22.45mm (w) x 25.85mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), weighs 6.9 grams, British War medal with its original silk ribbon awarded to PO. 18451 PTE.
