WWII German Army Model 1935 Double Decal Helmet, Early Example-This example is an early one, dated 1936. It has its original apple green, smooth finish that remains a solid 80% intact. The left side has a lightly toned army decal that checks in at 75%. The right side has a tri color shield which is 80% or so intact. The size 57 leather liner is lightly discolored and has minor visible wear. There is a drawstring and a non reinforced aluminum liner band that is maker marked, dated 1936 and size stamped 64. The right side of the interior is stamped Q 64 indicating production by Quist in the size of 64. The rear skirt is stamped with the lot number 2889 indicating production in 1936. There is a brown leather chinstrap that is a replacement as it is dated 1940. An excellent opportunity to own a very early helmet!
